Eric has 30 years of consulting and industry experience, focused on business and technology strategy, digital transformation, data strategy, data analytics and AI.
In addition to his work at Louw Consulting, Eric has held several executive roles in large organisations. Most recently, he established and led Aurecon’s Data Analytics capability. His team delivered over a hundred successful digital strategy, data strategy, data analysis, machine learning / AI and software development projects.
Earlier in his career, Eric was a senior executive at Telstra. He led strategy, planning, risk, compliance and pricing for Telstra’s Business division and played a lead role in establishing Telstra Ventures (now Titanium Ventures) and Telstra Health. Eric has also held senior roles in blue chip consulting firms including Monitor Group, Andersen and EY.
Eric’s recent consulting experience includes leading a digital transformation program for a government agency, developing a professional services firm’s data strategy, transforming a major water utility’s asset performance analysis and reporting capabilities, developing a global mining company’s technology strategy, and leading numerous data-intensive projects leveraging cutting edge analytical and reporting technologies.
Eric has co-authored three books and multiple papers on strategy, technology and cybersecurity, and he has taught at the Universities of Melbourne and Cambridge. He has a BSc Honours and an MBA cum laude from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
